Yet Another Blackburn Deal
A trade with Oklahoma helps the Blackburn Buzzards firm up their run defense.
The Buzzards send OT Jeromy Clary (SD), DT Craig Terrill (SEA) and their 4th-round draft pick (No. 84) to the Oilers for DT Dusty Dvoracek (CHI) and their 7th-round (No. 159) and 10th-round (No. 231) draft picks.
Blackburn is interested in moving TE Steve Heiden, a 5 blocker and functional receiver (No. 11 in TC and yards among 5/6 blockers in card set, No. 46 among all 74 TEs) -- slated to maintain his No. 2 spot for Cleveland this season -- in exchange for ASFLC relative-value draft picks and/or OG, although has roster space to keep him.
(BTW I don't know if I've improved my team with all these deals, but I am having a lot of fun -- which is the important thing to me, even though winning would be nice.)

Blackburn with players available
The Blackburn Buzzards are now within the caps, but looking to organize their pre-draft roster and have the following players available:
TE Chris Baker (NYJ, 29): 5 run block, 21 receptions (9.2 ypr). High production value for low number of catches, for those who don't have big cap space left. Especially good SP, (8.47 SPW, #20 in league; 5.17 SPR, #26).
KR Rock Cartwright (Wash., 29): With 51 returns (25.6 ypa), should be LK. Not rated at RB, so no cap hit there. No TD line, but long of 87 yards.
Need OL/DL, 5+ rate either pass or run, and/or draft picks. For OT, can offer G Andrew Whitworth (CIN, 27), 4 run/3 pass, if necessary to make deal work.
First time posting on here, so not sure this is right, but figured it was better than league-wide e-mail to clutter boxes.

Norfolk-Philadelphia blockbuster deal
The Norfolk Neptunes and Philadelphia Spidermen pulled of a blockbuster deal as Norfolk sends Anquan Boldin, its first rounder (#5 overall), and the Mashers 2nd rounder (#48 overall) for QB Ben Roethlisberger, Philly's 1st (#15 overall) and Philly's 2nd rounder (#39 overall). Thanks to Jeff Brown and best of luck. The Neptunes had too many receptions in their receiving corp and view Roethlisberger as an upgrade at QB.

Norfolk deals Ugoh to DaGints
The Norfolk Neptunes dealt OT Tony Ugoh and its 7th round pick to DaGints for G Derrick Dockery and CB Randall Gay (New Orleans). Both players fill holes for the Neptunes as Dockery will slide into the RG spot ahead of Mike Goff and Gay takes over the starting LCB spot.

Norfolk deals Suggs to Mashers; Boldin, Ugoh next??
The Norfolk Neptunes dealt all pro OLB Terrell Suggs to the Mashers for Jamal Jackson, C, Larry Foote ILB, and the Mashers 2nd round pick (#48) in the upcoming draft. The deal upgrades a hole in the middle of the O-Line as none of the three centers on the roster amounted to zeroes.
Larry Foote will start one the inside LB spots as the Neptunes will go to a 3-4 on defense this year and the pick will give the Neps four picks in the top 53 (5,29,48, 53). Vet Keith Brookings will man the spot vacated by Suggs departure unless the Neps make another deal (imagine that).
The Neptunes are looking to deal one of the WR's as between them and the TE's they will exceed the 300 receptions (just the WR's alone cover that). Anquan Boldin is the prime target. Norfolk is seeking a starting LB or LCB or a high draft pick.
Also, Tony Ugoh (OT-4/7) is on the block as the the club seeks a starter at RG with veteran Goff scoring a zero. Maybe the steak will be better in KC for the old boy.
The fun is just starting boys.

ASFLC Super Bowl
the MASHERS beat the RAMS in convincing style 31-17 but the game wasn't that close. Outcoached and outmanned the Rams could do nothing. For the first 50 minutes of the game they managed a measly three points. The punter was on the field more than the cheerleaders. Late in the game, yes, MR. NFL defensive player of the year, James Harrison did intercept a pass and run it back all the way for a TD and, yes, later in the game, when it was over, Jeff Garcia woke up and completed a few passes for a late TD. Still, had the refs not pulled out the laundry early and often against the MASHERS, the score at halftime could easily have been 35-3. The Rams were accused of paying the refs as much as an AIG executive but that's not true. All we did was promise them a party after the game with dancing . . . . ...Well, never mind. The point is this game was more of a mismatch than David and Goliath only, on this occassion, Goliath won.
Were the Rams outcoached. No question about it. When Galloway goes without a catch and Engram has but 3 for a measly 37 yards, that's called shutting down the offense. Jamal Lewis galloped for 47 yards on one occassion and only mustered 59 yards on the next 18 carries, hardly all pro calibre while the triumvirate of Young, Ward, and Westbrook ran as freely as the bulls in Pampano, Spain amassing 270 yards on the ground.
It was a slaughter from start to finish and that's the way it should be. The better team won.
