Everyone should have received the "final" league manager. After doing all the tiebreaker scenarios, here is how the playoffs look:
NFC
#1 seed - DaGints (won NFC East) 12-4
#2 seed - Oklahoma (won NFC Central) 11-5
#3 seed - Chatham (won NFC West) 9-7
#4 seed - Darien 9-7
#5 seed - Norfolk 9-7
#6 seed - Rochester 9-7
** Tiebreakers
The first 3 seeds were easy because they each won their division and had different records.
The 4-5-6 seeds all had the same records. According to NFL.com, if 2 of the teams are in the same division, you first find out which team earned 2nd place in their division. So, since Norfolk beat Rochester both times. Norfolk is awarded 2nd place in the division and Rochester is 3rd place in the NFC east. So, the 4th seed is only between Darien and Norfolk. The first step is head to head between the 2 teams. since they did not play, we move to the second step which is conference record. Darien's conference record was 7-5. Norfolk's conference record was 6-6. Therefore, Darien is awarded the 4th seed and Norfolk the 5th with Rochester taking the final 6th seed.
AFC
#1 seed - San Fran (won AFC west) 13-3
#2 seed - Mashers (won AFC central) 11-5
#3 seed - Waunakee (won AFC east) 11-5
#4 seed - Wisconsin 10-6
#5 seed - Eau Claire 7-9
#6 seed - Pecatonica 7-9
** Tiebreakers
This was obviously much more difficult. The #1 seed was easy with San Fran having the best record. The Mashers take the number 2 seed because of their overtime victory earlier in the season versus Waunakee. So, Waunakee then takes the 3rd seed. Wisconsin is the best record of all the wild-card teams so they take the 4th seed.
Now it gets really tricky. There were 4 teams with a 7-9 record. According to NFL.com the first thing we do is deal with any 2 teams who are in the same division. Which was Pecatonica and Vegas. In their head to head matchups, Pecatonica beat Vegas both times. This takes Vegas out of the tiebreaker. Now the three remaining teams (Long Island, Eau Claire, Pecatonica) go head to head to head. If any team won against both of the other opponents, then they would get the next seed. So the #5 seed goes to Eau Claire since they beat both Long Island and Pecatonica. So, the 6th seed comes down to Long Island or Pecatonica. We go back to head to head and Pecatonica beat Long Island, therefore eliminating Long Island and giving Pecatonica the #6th seed.
I hope this is clear. (You can check all the tiebreaker scenarios with the "tiebreaker rules" we sent out a few weeks ago.
So, here are the playoff matchups:
