Week 8 Chatham 30 Cincy 14
This one was against the computer... second time I've faced the computer coach and this time with better results. Mike Anderson was big with more than 120 yards rushing and Charlie Frye filled in for Boller and looked good going 20 for 28 with a TD. TJ Houshmanzadeh also had a big day.
Chatham is 4-4... winning two straight after a 3 game losing skid.
Welcome to the American Strat Football League on Computer blogsite. If you are looking for a strat netplay league, we hope that you will look around and consider joining us. Check out our league website for more information and if you have any questions feel free to email us. Thanks and enjoy!

Week 6 Finals
Huntsville 28
Chatham 24
Huntsville pressured the Coyotes all day, even getting a safety in the final quarter. But with :15 left, Kyle Boller hit Patrick Crayton over the middle in a vacated flat and he dashed over 30 yards for the score. HOWEVER... a holding penalty on Chatham called it back and preserved the win for the Ravens. Julius Jones had 142 yards rushing for the Coyotes, but Steven Jackson of Huntsville managed 132 yards and Donovan McNabb threw for 293. Chatham falls to 2-4.

Roster moves
I thought we were only allowed one roster move per "cycle"? I'm seeing multiple moves here and from what I remember the limit was one cycle. Wasn't it something like one move every 3 weeks or something like that?

Norfolk defeats Rochester 37-21
The Norfolk Neptunes gained their first win in week 3 by defeating the Rochester Absolut Goofs 37-21 at Foreman Field in Norfolk Va.
Two critical turnovers late in the first quarter by the Goofs proved to be the difference as Norfolk bolted to a 14-0 lead and never really looked back.
Tiki Barber (24 rushes-42 yards) fumbled at the Rochester 13 and DT Keith Traylor recovered and returned it to the 10. Norfolk punches it in on a 5yd Steve McNair to Warrick Dunn pass.
On Rochester's next drive, Eli Manning (was picked off by Dunta Robinson and the latter returned the ball 25 yards to the Rochester 10. McNair hit FB Tony Richardson with an 8 yard pass. Phil Dawson added the point after to make it 14-0.
The Neptunes got up 31-6 in the third before Rochester was able to make up ground for the final margin.
Eli Manning was 15-32 for 200 yds 1 TD/1 INT.
Steve McNair was 16-31 for 155 yds and 2 TD.
Warrick Dunn was the leading rusher with 74 yd on 11 carries.
Phil Dawson had 4xps and 3 FG (44,41,28).
Kenny Oberg hosted as I was having troubles hosting the game. Better luck to Ken next time as I think luck did play a huge part of this ball game

San Diego Rips Chatham 45-19 Week 2
Curtis blew open a close game in the second half, outscoring the Coyotes 45-19. Solid play from Shaun Alexander (20-114) and Drew Bledsoe (16-22-273-2) helped ice it. Ty Law picked off Kyle Boller in the closing seconds and ran it back 98 yards for the final score.
Boller was forced to throw in the second half and wound up 27-46-279-1 with a pair of picks. Chatham actually held the ball 10 minutes longer but San Diego's bend but don't break defense did the job. Chatham's top draft pick, Lofa Tatupu, was injured for half the game and wound up with only 3 tackles.
San Diego is 2-0. Chatham 0-1 has yet to play its week 1 game.

Men,
I just wanted to give you an update of what has been happening in our league thus far:
Week 1 games played so far:
Mashers 37, Wisconsin 24
Cincy 21, Rochester 18
Ann Arbor 27, Bloomington 24
San Diego 33, Tustin 13
and the game of the week so far:
Super Bowl Champion DaGints 27,
Division Rival Norfolk 24
This game came down to a field goal with :15 seconds left tied at 24. Staring overtime in the face after missing (2) 2-9 field goals earlier in the game, Olindo Mare hit the game winning field goal. Even with :08 seconds left, DaGints head coach John Croyts still had to make a difficult decision. Kick deep and give Ladell Betts a "chance" to return. Betts has a touchdown on 2. Or to kick an onside kick and give McNair a chance for a hail mary - or the possibility of Warrick Dunn around the end and "long gain". Coach Croyts chose to kick the onsider with the hopes of recovering it and "taking a knee". No such luck! Norfolk recovered at his own 45 and decided for one more hail mary. He had already hit a "long gain" on the roll of 10 on his long pass card called "right" with 3:30 to go - for a 64 yard touchdown pass to Muhsin Muhammed and then converted a 2 point conversion to tie the game at 24. McNair threw one more "long pass" and hit the roll of 9 on his card, which is 28 yards. One "roll" away from another "long gain". And the game ended with Norfolk in field goal position but no time on the clock!!
I thought I would include the write up on this from the two head coaches:
(George of Norfolk)
Hey guys, what an exciting game John and I had. What a wonderful experience (even in losing). We finished after 2am. I went to work on fumes yesterday but what a rush. After taking a 16-10 lead, I couldn't stop Brady and the boys in the 4th quarter, but I was shocked when McNair hit Muhammad with that 64 yard bomb and the two-pointer to tie at 24 with over three minutes left. My inexperience with clock management did me in along with Brady methodically moving DaGints down the field for the game winner with :08 left. I gotta lot to learn about the game and handling my defense, but this is great stuff!! This is about as good as it gets!! I am totally stoked about the game, the league and the netplay!! Thanks guys and good luck John with your (high school) team in its playoffs. I just felt lucky to compete with you in the strat game. Very gratifying experience.
(John of DaGints)
George,
What a great email!!!...I thought you called a great game...If you get any better ... look out!!!...
It was a great game...a lot of close calls....things that could have went either way....
And I have to say, I love your enthusiasm.....Jerry and I feel the same way....This league stuff is awesome....we played the board game vs each other (and two brothers) for years......nothing like this netplay stuff!!!!
Good Luck the rest of the year!
Guys, this is what makes this league great!!
Keep the games coming!! Be sure and email your opponents. If your opponent emails you, be sure and email back asap to let them know you received it and what your intentions are in scheduling the game. There is nothing worse than getting "no response"!!
Looking forward to seeing many more "post game files" this coming week!!

Men,
Any roster moves or trades can be announced by posting them on the blog as of 8:00 am eastern Wednesday, October 4th. All rosters have been finished within the league manager. We are now prepared for any cuts, trades, or acquisitions. Please look over your individual rosters and check the roster limitations. For example: if the limitations say that you must have at least "4" olb's and "2" ilb's and you only have 5 lb's total, then you must make a move to get one more lb. Also, we need to know asap what type of defense you are planning on playing - 3-4 or 4-3. Please email me at jcroyts@hotmail.com with whether your team is playing 3-4 or 4-3. Thanks!

Hey Ed, this is what happens when you steal my picks :]
CINCINNATI (AP) -- Coach Marvin Lewis expects middle linebacker Odell Thurman to be suspended for the rest of the season following his arrest early Monday on a drunken driving charge, making him the sixth Cincinnati Bengal arrested this year.
Thurman, already serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, could get an additional one-year suspension from the league.

Roster moves
ASFLC
Please do not attempt to make any roster cuts until after the draft. We will first attempt to put all rosters together after the draft (this will probably take a week to ten days) then all owners can make trades and roster moves at that time!!!!
Thanks Guys
