Norfolk defeats Rochester 37-21

The Norfolk Neptunes gained their first win in week 3 by defeating the Rochester Absolut Goofs 37-21 at Foreman Field in Norfolk Va.

Two critical turnovers late in the first quarter by the Goofs proved to be the difference as Norfolk bolted to a 14-0 lead and never really looked back.

Tiki Barber (24 rushes-42 yards) fumbled at the Rochester 13 and DT Keith Traylor recovered and returned it to the 10. Norfolk punches it in on a 5yd Steve McNair to Warrick Dunn pass.

On Rochester's next drive, Eli Manning (was picked off by Dunta Robinson and the latter returned the ball 25 yards to the Rochester 10. McNair hit FB Tony Richardson with an 8 yard pass. Phil Dawson added the point after to make it 14-0.

The Neptunes got up 31-6 in the third before Rochester was able to make up ground for the final margin.

Eli Manning was 15-32 for 200 yds 1 TD/1 INT.
Steve McNair was 16-31 for 155 yds and 2 TD.
Warrick Dunn was the leading rusher with 74 yd on 11 carries.
Phil Dawson had 4xps and 3 FG (44,41,28).

Kenny Oberg hosted as I was having troubles hosting the game. Better luck to Ken next time as I think luck did play a huge part of this ball game

San Diego Rips Chatham 45-19 Week 2

Curtis blew open a close game in the second half, outscoring the Coyotes 45-19. Solid play from Shaun Alexander (20-114) and Drew Bledsoe (16-22-273-2) helped ice it. Ty Law picked off Kyle Boller in the closing seconds and ran it back 98 yards for the final score.

Boller was forced to throw in the second half and wound up 27-46-279-1 with a pair of picks. Chatham actually held the ball 10 minutes longer but San Diego's bend but don't break defense did the job. Chatham's top draft pick, Lofa Tatupu, was injured for half the game and wound up with only 3 tackles.

San Diego is 2-0. Chatham 0-1 has yet to play its week 1 game.
