Mashers defeat Orange County

The Mashers finally get through the AFC by defeating Orange County 28-14.

The Mashers jumped out to a 21-0 lead before Orange County came storming back to cut the lead to 1 score, 21-14. Then the Mashers were able to answer back with a scoring drive of their own to push the lead to 28-14 with just over 6 minutes to play in the game. Orange County continued to move the ball and threaten but the Mashers were able to hold them from scoring.

After two consecutive losses in the championship game to the S.F/Orange County franchise, the Mashers make it to their first ASFLC Super Bowl where they will take on the Camden Greys who also have qualified for their first ASFLC Super Bowl as well.

Congratulations to Rousel Glaciano on a 14-2 season in his first year in the ASFLC.

Camden defeats Bloomington in OT!!!

In what can only be described as a fiasco, the Bloomington Rams suffered a heartbreaking loss in the NFC title game against the visiting Camden Greys, 30-27 in overtime. This one was as wild as it can get. The Greys stormed to a 24-7 half-time lead that seemed to ensure them a spot in the super bowl but on their first possession of the half, the Greys' Donovan Mcnabb tossed an interception and the rally was on. The Greys would turn the ball over five times in the half but still seemed on the verge of victory with just 22 seconds left in the game and Bloomington in a 3rd and long and no time outs. But coach Bill Ferguson never panicked and hit RB Joe Addai with a huge 30 yard screen and then kicked the tying FG with just 1 second left in regulation to send it into OT!

camden won the toss but, as had been the case of the entire second half, McNabb was picked off for the fourth time and the ball was returned down to the Greys' 23! from there, the Rams moved the ball to the 12 and then trotted out place kicker John Carney in front of a dilerious Bloomington crowd anticipating a n appearance in the Super Bowl. Carney had not missed a kick from within the 39 yard line all season but, on this occasion, the ball was blocked and the Greys had a miracle extension to their year. From that point on, coach Jeff Beyel elected to just air it out and air it out they did. McNabb would toss pass after pass as they moved the ball downthe field finally connecting with Isaac Bruce on a 39 yards crossing pattern for the game winning TD. The ecstatic and relieved Greys will now move on to their first super bowl game appearance. "Bill and his team made a fanatastic comeback and they had the game in their grasp. The penalty edge really hurt them at times and the missed field goal was just a fluke. They deserved much better." said coach Beyel
